JUNE 2022 – COLUMBUS, OHIO – Evidence of her passion for Mallorca Cleveland, her patrons, and the industry as a whole, owner Laurie Torres has been named to the Board of Trustees of the Ohio Restaurant Association. The announcement came from the organization's executive committee in Columbus, Ohio. Since 1920, the ORA has proudly served the state's restaurant, foodservice and hospitality industry. The organization offers its members advocacy support, professional education, hiring and workforce solutions, and select vendor products and services.

Torres' appointment to the board follows other recognition from the group after receiving the Ohio Restaurant Association's 2021 Rising Star Award. According to the ORA, the award honors an emerging leader in the foodservice industry – one whose work demonstrates ongoing exceptional growth and high potential for future impact.

Now in its 25th year, Mallorca has established itself as an iconic Cleveland restaurant experience. Under Torres direction, the restaurant has elevated itself within the downtown dining scene, as is considered by many local and city visitors as "a must see" entertainment destination. Torres was featured as one of Cleveland Magazine's Most Interesting People For 2022.
